How To Calculate Safe Period To Avoid Pregnancy

Many couples are trying to determine safe period for intercourse to avoid pregnancy. You can calculate the safe days with higher accuracy once to understand the science behind menstrual cycles and what happens in each phase. The safe period calculator helps to prevent unwanted pregnancy without any side effects.

A safe period is a time when a woman has less chances of getting pregnant. So, if you are not ready for it this is the best time for you to have sex as there is no egg in the woman’s body. Before the next menstruation, ovulation occurs 14 days before for most of the woman. It is difficult to know when the women will start her next menstruation. If a woman has a regular period then it is easy to calculate the days of ovulation. The days of previous menstruation must be used as a starting point. It is very important to know that four days before and after ovulation the egg can be fertilised and it is not the safe time for you to have sex if you are not ready to be pregnant. Here are the different phases of menstrual cycle which will help you to calculate safe period: You can also review are recent article on best baby stroller which you may need post-delivery.

The menstrual cycle is of 28 days and is counted from the first day of menstrual bleeding. The menstrual cycle is divided into three phases:

  • The Follicular phase: It is a pre-ovulation phase where the follicles in the ovary mature and this phase ends with ovulation. Here the Follicle-stimulating hormone is secreted and Estradiol hormone is atwork.
  • The Ovulation phase: The ovulation phase is a time before and after ovulation. The mature ovarian follicle ruptures and discharges an egg or ovum. The woman could get pregnant when she is ovulating.
  • The Luteal phase: The luteal phase is thepost-ovulation phase. Here the corpus luteum is created which is a temporary endrocine structure that produces oestrogen or progestogen. To protect the inner membrane of the uterus the body requires oestrogen and progestogen.

However, the safe days also depends upon the lifespan of both the egg and the sperm. If the menstrual cycle is of 28 days then ovulation may occur in the 14th day of menstrual cycle. The ovulation time is sometimes different for different woman as it may occur from the 12th to 19th day of the cycle. The sperm lives for 3 to 5 days so if you have unprotected sex 5 days before ovulation you may become pregnant. The egg has a short lifespan of 24 hours and if fertilisation does not occur within that time then the egg will die. The calculation sometimes may be incorrect due to fluctuating hormones as most of the woman believes that it is safe to have sex after period starts or before it begins.

A safe period calculator may help you and give accurate result in some cases but some people find it … Read More

Resistant Starch countering Red Meat-caused Risk of Cancer

The internet can show us many different things – from how to fix our car to how to have fun on herpes dating sites. However, if you want to learn a thing or two about preventing cancer, you can also find a lot of useful information and studies online. One such study is the one that proposes resistant starch can counter the effects of red meat, for example.

Evidence confirms that red meat – beef, lamb, and pork – can heighten the danger of colorectal cancer if it’s frequently included in one’s diet. A 2015 study proposes, however, that the utilization of resistant starch could decrease this hazard, making diets rich in red meat much safer.

Albeit ever prevalent around BBQ season, red meat has been related to expanding the danger of colorectal tumor often in the previous 20 years. The people behind the research express that the popularity of red meat has been relentlessly developing since well before this affiliation was made.

“Total meat consumption in the USA, European Union, and the developed world has continued to increase from the 1960s, and in some cases has nearly doubled,” says Karen J. Humphreys, a research assistant from Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia, who worked on the study alongside many other doctors and experts.

Impossible to Compare

The research, issued in Cancer Prevention Research, included 23 sound volunteers at the age of 50-75 trialing two different eating plans over 4-week time spans; one eating routine was high in red meat and the other in resistant starch.

Resistant starch differs from other carbohydrates in that it escapes assimilation while going through the stomach and small intestines. When it stops at an internal organ, it is fermented by the microorganisms there, creating useful particles known as short-chain unsaturated fats.

These short-chain fatty acids incorporate butyrate, which is known to repress colonic tumor cells while advancing the development of colonic epithelial cells. The alternative eating routine to the red meat diet inside the investigation was high-butyrate resistant starch.

The members would proceed to eat one of the weight control plans for a 4-week time frame, and afterward, following a 4-week washout period, they would initiate following the other eating routine for an additional month.

And the Results are in…

The specialists found that in the wake of eating 300 g of lean red meat every day for a month, almost double the daily dose suggested by the American Heart Association (AHA), members had a 30% expansion in levels of miR-17-92 particles in their rectal tissue.

On the other hand, once they consumed 40 g of butyrate resistant starch next to red meat every day for a month, the members’ levels of miR-17-92 were lowered down to normal levels.

Humphreys said the discoveries are clearly stating that this could be a methodology for handling the dangers encompassing an eating routine including high red meat consumption: “Red meat and resistant starch have opposite effects on the colorectal cancer-promoting miRNAs, the miR-17-92 cluster. This finding supports … Read More

Award Plaques Can Be A Health Care Recognition For A Health Care Organization

A hospital, medical practice, or established health care organization is to provide quality health care and is cost-effective. To reward the people and organizations that excel in the health care industry is to encourage high standards and outstanding service. When others feel that their work is appreciated, mostly in the award plaques, they are more attentive, industrious, and willing to work extra. Assessment of the good performance of a hospital by a service user satisfaction survey.

Various awards can be given in measuring a performance of a health care organization or worker within the organization, exceptional service awards, employee of the month, length of award service, or retirement award. But the rewards that give the most meaning and can be as a pride are the length of service provided by an organization obtained from a credible and trustworthy appraisal agency, because it can increase the confidence and passion for all employees.

Award and plaques are two very closely related things. The awards for good achievement in a plaque are more favored by most people. An example is custom plaques that can be designed and selected in accordance with the wishes and goals of the award by the customer. Words can be fabricated by the customer to be written on plaques. Various models can be selected plaques, can be displayed by hanging on the wall, displayed to put on your desk or in a rack cabinet, or some of both that makes it possible for the recipient to freely determine the placement of plaques later.

Moreover, plaques have a large selection of models: perpetual plaques are plaques are rewards for a team of accomplishments – the names of the team members can be written on the plaque. Photo plaques are plaques for awards that have images in the photography of the award recipients. Personalized plaques are plaques that are awarded for the rewards of someone who has given an outstanding achievement to an organization. And there are many kinds of plaques based on the basic materials used in making plaques: brass plaques, acrilyc plaques, wooden plaques etc.

For a model that can be hung on the wall, for example, a hospital will definitely put on its lobby wall, so it can be seen by visitors or patients. Prestige of a hospital will be lifted for the award plaques give more confidence to the patient or hospital visitor to want to do the treatment at the hospital.

Award Plaques very useable and very appropriate for an assessment institution that wants to give an award to a health care organization on its achievements as health care recognition.… Read More

What You Need to Know About Medical Cannabis Terpenes

Terpenes are a large part of what makes up medical cannabis, yet many patients don’t know much about them.  That’s why we’ve created this guide, to help patients understand the usefulness of cannabis terpenes.

Cannabis Terpenes: What Are They?

Terpene molecules are oils which reside within the resin glands of cannabis flowers.  Terpenes are the molecules responsible for the smell and taste of individual strains, while cannabinoids and THC are odourless.  Terpenes may also influence the effects of varied strains.  Outside influences on the cannabis as it is grown do not alter the smell or flavour, but will affect the amount of terpenes each plant generates.  This has led Licensed Producers (LP’s) to choose strains that exhibit a desired terpene profile, while they try to achieve the highest number of terpenes through their cultivation process.  As terpenes are extremely potent, just a small number of these molecules will have the cannabis smelling strongly.  It should be noted that terpenes are not specific to cannabis.  They are found in other herbs, fruits and even coniferous trees.

How do terpenes work in cannabis?

The terpenes found in cannabis bind with the receptors inside the human body.  These include the scent receptors found in your nose and mouth, as well as your brain and nervous system cannabinoid receptors.  The terpenes bind to your receptors, causing you to experience smell and taste.  They might even have a maximizing effect on the cannabinoids through what is known as the “entourage effect.”

The effects of medical cannabis terpenes

Medical cannabis gives patients it’s beneficial effects when the cannabinoids bind with the cannabinoid receptors, (CB1 & CB2), in your brain and nervous system.  While terpenes have not been proven to affect the medical properties of cannabis, they may be responsible for raising dopamine and serotonin levels in your brain.  Research is ongoing into the exact effects of terpenes and how they influence patient treatment.  There seems to be a lot of synergistic potential happening between terpenes, cannabinoids and the human body which we don’t fully understand.

So far, research suggests that terpenes will bind to your cannabinoid receptors as well, possibly affecting chemical activity and how your body reacts to cannabinoids.  As there are many types of terpenes, each may bring with it a differing effect, such as feelings of euphoria, focus or even altered THC absorption.  Some terpenes also appear to have no measurable effect whatsoever.

Types of cannabis terpenes

To date, researchers have identified 100 terpene types, with 6 being classified as primary terpenes.

Pinene

As its name suggests, Pinene has been found in coniferous trees and gives a tart, piney aroma when smelled.  Cannabis strains that promote pinene production include Indica, Sativa and Hybrid strains.

Myrcene

Found in the highest volumes within mostly Indica cannabis strains, Myrcene produces an earthy, fruity smell that can come off as quite strong and musky.

Linalool

Found in its highest concentrations within Sativa cannabis strains, Linalool delivers crisp notes of citrus that are sometimes almost sweet … Read More
